Lord of the Flies post 1

Lord of the Flies
Chapter 1
“The Sound of the Conch”
Jack
We have landed

We were marching around the scar of the island, or at least what we thought was an island. We used our knives to cut any loose vines. We all wore black capes with us. Some of them were ripped from the crash. We all wore black caps with a silver cross on it, except for mine which was golden. It was golden because I was the leader of the choir. We wore a hambone frill around our necks. We were looking for any kind of food when we heard it. It was a loud sound, like a trumpet. We decided to ignore it and keep looking. Then the sound came back, this time a little louder. There were things moving through the jungle. I caught a glimpse of what I thing was a little boy. When I started to pay closer attention they were all boys. The sound kept ringing though the jungle. The boys were moving to the sound. One of my choir pulled on my sleeve and whispered in my ear, “We should go too.” I knew what he meant by that but I was not so hasty. We decided to start marching that way. We got out of the jungle and stepped on a beach. There we saw a group of boys huddled around one taller boy with a fat boy standing next to him. The tall boy was making that sound. As we marched toward them eyes started to draw their attention to us. When we got close enough I said,” Where is the boy with the trumpet”? The fat boy answered and said no trumpet just this. He pointed to a shell thing. I asked the fat boys name. The taller boy answered with Piggy. My choir went into a laughing outrage, including me. One of my members fainted. Another boy ran to help me when I told him to stop. “He’s faking it” I said, “He’s done this before elsewhere.” The boy steeped away. I found out later the taller boy’s name was Ralph. We had a vote for chief and unfortunately I was out voted. Ralph was the chief. Me, Ralph, and the boy who fainted in my choir, whose name was Simon, went to go look for food. Piggy wanted to come buy Ralph talked him down. Me and Simon were to far away to hear the conversation. After awhile we found a small piglet trapped in vines. I drew my knife and started slashing at it. The pig got away, but I told the other two, next time I will get it. We came back to the beach of boys empty handed.
